WATCH LIVE: Vance and Walz debate — PBS News simulcast of CBS’s 2024 Vice Presidential Debate

Democratic vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz and Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance will meet for their first and only scheduled debate Tuesday, Oct. 1 in New York. PBS Utah will carry live coverage of the VP debate, both on the air and online, starting at 7 p.m. MDT on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

PBS News coverage starts with the News Hour at 4 p.m. MDT, ahead of the 90-minute CBS 2024 Vice Presidential Debate that airs at 7 p.m. MDT. 

After the debate, stay tuned for PBS News special coverage with co-anchors Geoff Bennett, Amna Nawaz, correspondents Lisa Desjardins and Laura BarrĂ³n-LĂ³pez, as well as analysis from Amy Walter of The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter, Republican strategist Kevin Madden and Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross.

Immediately following the special, PBS News digital producer Deema Zein will host a live conversation with Desjardins and BarrĂ³n-LĂ³pez about the key moments from the night.
