   Stories from this Episode

Ballet Folklórico de las Américas

Ballet Folklórico has been bringing traditional folk dances from México, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, Cuba, and other Latin American nations to Utah since 1979. For Artistic Director Irma Hofer and the young members of Ballet Folklórico de las Americas, learning the traditional folk dances of their ancestors is a new way to connect to their families and their heritage.

Golden Spike and the History of Chinese Railroad Workers

The transcontinental railroad was a monumental achievement, built in part by the labor of Chinese railroad workers. Meet Margaret Yee, the great-granddaughter of one of those railroad workers, and the chairperson of Descendants of Chinese Railroad Workers, a group that is working to make sure the contributions of Chinese Americans to the railroad effort are not forgotten.

Spring City Heritage Day

Step inside the pioneer-era homes of yesteryear during the annual Spring City Heritage Day, and meet the locals responsible for keeping the tradition alive. Leading the state in historic preservation and restoration for its unique stone homes and buildings, Spring City is a marvel of richly restored architecture and one-of-a-kind craftsmanship.
