PBS Utah is thrilled to announce that veteran local journalist and storyteller Lauren Steinbrecher has joined the team as the new reporter/host for Utah Insight and other public affairs and news programs. Steinbrecher is an award-winning journalist who has covered community issues and events important to Utahns for almost 10 years, and whose work has also been featured by national and international outlets.

"With nearly a decade of experience in Salt Lake City, Steinbrecher has built a reputation as a trustworthy, fair, and compassionate reporter,” said Director of Content Lisa Olken. “I’m confident her deep connections to Utah will help take the work we do at PBS Utah to the next level."

The multi-media journalist began her career in her native state of Seattle as an intern at Cascade PBS. After stints in Louisiana and Montana, she eventually settled in the Beehive State and has since worked for KSL and Fox 13 where she received several Emmy wins and nominations, building her portfolio and professional character as a reporter.

Steinbrecher is happy to be back in public broadcasting. "I'm excited to work with the amazingly talented and collaborative team at PBS Utah, alongside colleagues who share the same vision for impactful storytelling as I do," said Steinbrecher. "Everyone is so welcoming and I'm honored to be here!"

In her free time, she enjoys painting, traveling, and camping in Utah's beautiful backcountry with her husband and two energetic rescue pups.
