Missy's Paint By Numbers

Email share

Hello, my name is Missy. I’m an artist and guest blogger here at PBS KIDS Utah. When I was growing up, I remember having a lot of fun with an activity book called “Paint By Number.” I decided to create my own Paint By Number for you to enjoy.

Supplies

  • Printed PDF “Paint By Number” page
  • Paints (or crayons or markers): red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, gray, tan and brown

Instructions

  1. Look at your “Paint By Number” page and identify all the 1’s. Color each space red that contains a 1.
  2. Now look for all the 2’s. Color each space orange that contains a 2.
  3. Move along down the list. 3 is yellow, 4 is green and so on.
  4. If a space doesn’t have a number in it, leave it white.
  5. Once you have colored all the numbered spaces, 1 through 9. Your “Paint By Number” is complete!

Wrap Up

Now you can hang your “Paint By Number” page in your room or on the refrigerator. You could try making your own “Paint By Number” too. Just make a line drawing. Then make a guide for the colors to use. Then add the numbers to the line drawing. Be creative and have fun!
