Missy's New Years Sparklers

Email share

Hi everyone! It’s Missy, artist and guest blogger, here again with an arts & crafts project. This one is a simple alternative to fireworks you buy at the store. And will help ring in the New Year with fun and flare! I am going to teach you to make your own sparklers.

  1. Cut the garland apart so you just have the tassels. Or arrange your tissue paper and cellophane strips into groups and fold in half (about 6 inches long when folded) to create a “tassel.”
  2. Use tape to attach one tassel to the end of a glowstick.
  3. Use tape and attach 2 more tassels to the same glowstick end.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 to create a second sparkler.
  5. Now crack your glowsticks to make them SHINE and wave your sparklers in the air!

Wrap Up

These cute sparklers can be used for celebrating 2024. Then pull them out again for birthdays, 4th of July, weddings, etc. Be creative and have fun!
