Howdy! My name is Missy. I’m an artist and a guest blogger here at PBS KIDS Utah. One of my first jobs was a summer camp counselor at Red Butte Garden. I got to host week long art camps for kids. On the final day of camp, we would always make Ice Cream In A Bag. Here’s how to make it!

  • 1 gallon size sealable bag
  • 1 sandwich size sealable bag
  • 1 cup of half & half
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 3 cups of ice
  • â…“ cup of kosher salt
  • A spoon
  • Toppings of your choice

Making Ice Cream In A Bag is a great way to beat the heat and a fun activity to do at 4th Of July BBQs. You can add berries grown in your yard, like I did, or you can add sprinkles, chocolate chips, candies, anything you like. Be creative and have fun!
