Hi! My name is Missy. I’m an artist and you may know me as one of PBS KID Utah’s guest bloggers. Early Summer is such a fun time because there are so many colors out in nature! Flowers blooming, new green leaves and grass, even some vegetables in the garden! I thought it would be fun to get outside and explore some color in the world.

Instructions

  1. Print out the Scavenger Hunt PDF.
  2. Use your crayons to color each box next to the color word. Match “red” with the crayon color red, “orange” to orange and so on.
  3. Color the words too.
  4. Go outside and look for those colors in nature.
  5. Take items that match the colors and place them on your page. If you aren’t allowed to take or pick the item, draw it instead.

Wrap Up

This is a fun activity to do at the park or on a hike too. Which colors are the most common? Which colors are the most hard to find? See if you can find every color of the rainbow! Be creative and have fun!
