Hi! It’s Missy, back with another fun project for you. When I was in the 3rd grade, my friend had a “Bubble Birthday Party.” A lady brought all sorts of items to use as bubble blowers and fun bubble activities. I am going to teach you how to make one of these bubble blowing items today!

Supplies

  • Bubble Solution (or water with a few drops of dish soap)
  • String
  • 2 straws cut about 5” long
  • Scissors
  • A pie tin (or other shallow vessel)

Instructions

  1. Use your scissors to cut your string about 12” long.
  2. Thread both straws on the string and tie the ends together in a knot.
  3. Fill your pie tin about half full with Bubble Solution.
  4. Hold the 2 straws apart in front of you. They will form 2 sides of a rectangle. The strings will be the other 2 sides. This is your bubble blower.
  5. Dip your bubble blower into the Bubble Solution and swish it around.
  6. Lift your bubble blower out slowly to create big bubbles!

Wrap Up

What other common kitchen items can you use as bubble blowers? A potato masher? A whisk? A vegetable peeler? Experiment with all sorts of different items and see what works the best. Have fun and be creative!

Fill a small wading pool with Bubble Solution. Put a kids stool in the middle, with a kid standing on it. Have an adult use a hula-hoop around the kid to create a gigantic bubble!
