Meet the Team

Email share

(We) have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you
(We)'ve always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you

So let's make the most of this beautiful day
Since we're together, we might as well say
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be (our) neighbor?

    -Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

Get to know Annie, Melanie, and Missy, the PBS Education team. Won't you please be our neighbor? We look forward to serving the PBS KIDS Utah Community.

Annie Frazier

Education Program Manager

Annie Frazier is the Education Program Manager at PBS Utah. She has worked in the early childhood education community for over 20 years. Throughout her career, she has managed many different programs and taught classes on a variety of topics, including: child development, mental health, anti-bias curriculum, and strengthening families.

Prior to joining the PBS Utah team, she mentored students majoring in early childhood education and oversaw the teacher training lab school at the University of Utah. Annie has been actively involved in the Family & Consumer Studies Department for both her undergraduate and graduate work in the Human Development and Social Policy program.

Annie has always been a huge PBS fan and loved watching PBS KIDS with her children when they were young. She wears a cardigan almost every day, as a constant reminder to try to be like Mister Rogers. She loves working with the children in our community and believes what Fred Rogers said, "Anyone who does anything to help a child in [their] life, is a hero to me."

Annie loves exploring Utah with her family and 3 dogs and can often be found enjoying the sunset with a Diet Dr. Pepper whenever possible.

Education Coordinator

Melanie Pehrson-Noyce from Plain City, Utah is a Fremont High School, Snow College, and University of Utah graduate. With a bachelor's degree in clarinet performance in 2012, then a master's degree in human development and social policy in 2018, her education has been driven by connection and passion for change. Most of her professional life has been spent serving children and families. Through representation and equity work, children and families of all types are capable, wholesome, powerful mediators of growth, innovation, and stability. She is looking forward to continuing her work as PBS Kids Education Coordinator, educating and advocating for a stronger, family supportive Utah.

Melanie lives in the Salt Lake City neighborhood of Poplar Grove in her dream work-in-progress bungalow with her dreamy husband Sam and 3 children. She enjoys playing her clarinet with the Murray Symphony, serving on SLC's PNUT (Parks, Natural Lands, Urban Forestry, and Trails) advisory board, and reading...anything. She's always looking for a good book recommendation.

Missy Maxwell

PBS KIDS Blog Contributor

My name is Missy Maxwell. I’m an illustrator, printmaker and mixed media artist. I live in beautiful Olympia, Washington. I grew up in Utah, but after completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Art & Photography at The Evergreen State College, it just felt right to stay.

My Mom always told me I have an inherent need to create. As young as 2-years-old, I was trusted to use my Papa’s huge set of art school markers. I’ve been at it ever since. I make art almost every day. I love collecting new art supplies and learning new techniques. Repetition and pattern are appealing to me as well as finding the perfect color scheme. I’m inspired by 60’s and 70’s motifs, Pacific Northwest scenery and my dreams.

Previous jobs have included: freelance scrapbooking, Art Camp Counselor and Pizza Delivery Driver.

I currently write a weekly Arts/Crafts blog for PBS KIDS Utah, design beer can art for Matchless Brewing, illustrate for Carhop (a Maine-based food and alcohol delivery service) and Bartend at my neighborhood beer bar.

When I’m not creating, I like to visit new breweries with my husband Nic, hoard house plants, birdwatch and give chin scratches to my tiny Siamese kitty, Lolita.
