Hi! My name is Missy and I’m an artist and blogger with PBS KIDS Utah. I love to text my friends, who doesn’t? And I love to add in fun little emojis to my texts to help convey my feelings; happy, sad, sick, angry. It’s also fun to draw your own emojis. Today I’ll show you how to draw a few of the many emojis.
Supplies:
- Paper
- Pencil or pen
- Crayons or markers
Instructions:
- Start with page 1 of Missy’s Drawing Book. This page has shapes and lines that will be used throughout the book. Practice drawing each shape and line, using a pencil or pen, until you are comfortable with them all.
- Move on to the emojis page. Follow the page left to right. Each row shows a new emoji: heart, heart-eyes face, kissing lips and thumbs up. Choose an emoji to draw first.
- Draw the first line or shape. Look to the right and see what the difference is between the first and second image. Add that difference, whether it be a line or a shape, to your drawing on your paper. Keep moving along in this way until you come to the last image.
- Now you’re done with your drawing and you can color it with crayons or markers.
- Choose a new emoji and repeat the steps.
Wrap-up:
These are only a few of the emojis in the world. I’m sure you can think of many others. Try drawing other emojis you’ve seen, or create your very own. Be creative and have fun!
