Have fun organizing and sorting your Halloween candy into different categories. How many candy bars did you get? What about lollipops?

Hello, my name is Missy. I’m an artist and a blogger for PBS KIDS Utah. I’ve always loved candy: Chewy stuff, chocolate stuff, sour stuff, suckers. You name it, I love it. Getting a big bag full of free candy on Halloween was one of the things I looked forward to most every year. And though I loved eating the candy, I really loved to sort it and see the variety I received. I created a fun coloring page for you to sort and track your Halloween candy this year.

Can you count the different kinds of candy you received? How do you like to organize your Halloween candy?

Supplies:

Print this page and color it in, then organize your Halloween candy according to the different shapes shown here!

Instructions:

  1. Go out trick-or-treating on Halloween. Bring home a bag of candy.
  2. Dump out your candy and count every piece. Write your total number of candies with your pencil in the pumpkin shape.
  3. Now sort your candy into categories: Candy Bars, Suckers, Chewies, Sours and Other.
  4. Write the total number of each category in the corresponding space.
  5. Now use your crayons to color the entire page.

Wrap-up:

Did you get the most candy bars, suckers, chewies, sours or other? Are there other categories you could sort your candy into? Be creative and have fun!
